Not only does having great posture make individuals look younger, more alert, and prevent problems in their spine, it is a great way to show people that you care about your appearance. But whether you are looking for exercises for posture, to prevent back problems, or to improve back conditions you currently have, there are several exercises you can try out to help with these back problems.
One of the best pieces of equipment you can purchase is an exercise ball. It will allow you to do any exercises for posture, either to help alleviate current pain you might be feeling or to try to straighten out certain problems which you may be feeling (due to nerve pain). It is also a great way to prevent you from ever having back problems later on in life. So, although there are many exercises which you can do using the exercise ball, here are a few great ones to help you in preventing future problems in your back and spine area.
1. Pelvic Tilt
First, there is one called the pelvic tilt. During this exercise, you will sit on the ball, and basically straighten out your legs allowing your back to roll all the way up the ball. You will hold the position for 20-30 seconds, and roll back to be seated on top of the ball. Repeat this a few times, until you get a full stretch down your spine.
2. Back Extension Stretch
Another great exercise is the back extension stretch. Basically you will lie down with your upper back (shoulders) on the ball, legs straight out, and extend your arms over your head. This will allow a full body stretch, and allow you to relieve any tightness or compression on the lower spine.
Other exercises for posture include a seated leg raise, and a full back extension. There are hundreds of exercises you can do with the exercise ball, these are just a few of the more basic ones.
