3 Simple Treatments for Quick Relief from Sciatica Pain

Cold / Heat Massage

There are several treatments for relief from sciatica pain. The first one of sciatica treatments is a cold pack. Usually the cold pack will help to ease off some of the pain. But sometimes people do not have ice packs so it is okay for you to use a frozen pack of vegetables. An ice cube works great too if you have someone that is close to you to massage the ice cube on the sore areas in a triangular pattern. If your skin gets too cold, tell the person to move the ice cube to a different part of the area. After you are done with the massage with the ice cubes, you could use a heating pad. The heating pad could help even more with the pain. If you don’t have a heating pad, then put a towel under hot water and place it on your back.

Laying On Your Back

The second one of the sciatica treatments is to lay on your back. This means that you lay on a firm mattress with a pillow up under your knees. You could also lay on your side with a pillow in between your legs. This will help to keep your back more straight. A chair that reclines could also help ease off some of the pain.

Take It Easy, But Don’t Overdo It

The third one of the sciatica treatments is taking it easy. But it is very important that you do not stay in bed for more than two days. This is because it could make the pain worst than it already is. Do not expect that any of these treatments are going to make you feel better overnight. It might take a little while but they will be worth it in the long run. Just do the activities that you feel comfortable in doing, do not over do it.
